Boston, MA (March 7, 2004)-The Men's Track & Field Team was crowned IC4A Champions today at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA. The men earned 60 points ahead of the University of Connecticut who earned second place with 47 points. The men have not won this honor since 1992. Tyler Raymond and Adeniyi Omisore were the top finishers for the men today placing second in their events. Raymond ran the 1000m in 2:24.14, less than two seconds behind Joel Legare from Connecticut. Omisore triple jumped 15.37m finishing just ahead of teammate Janek Augustynowicz who jumped 14.91m. Teresa Frierson was the top finisher for the Lady Jaspers taking first place in the 500m in a personal best time of 1:02.42.

The 4x800m Relay Team finished fourth with a time of 7:35.42. The team includes Joseph Van Dyke, Joshua Conklin, Matt Reilly, and Raymond. Magnus Ahlen took seventh place in the Triple Jump with a jump of 14.61m. In the Heptathlon Nils Pettersson finished in 10th place earning 4847 points. Matt Reilly competed in the mile and earned 13th place running in a time of 4:11.68. Finally in the Shot Put, Anders Constantin finished 16th with his second throw of 15.29m.

The women's 4x800m Relay Team, Rachel McGee, Michelle Jones, Linn Modin and Lisa Naucler, captured ninth place finishing the race in a time of 9:18.22. Therese Forsberg ran a personal best time of 9:43.99 taking 12th place in the 3000m. Finally, in the Weight Throw Marina Liander threw 16.46m placing 12th.

The Jaspers compete again on Friday, March 12 at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, AR. The competition will continue until Saturday, March 13.
