DAY ONE RESULTS
Riverdale, NY (January 16, 2004)-The Jaspers completed the first day of the Manhattan Invitational held at Manhattan College. The Jaspers captured first place in nine out of the fourteen events. Jenna Daly got the Lady Jaspers started by coming in first place in the Pole Vault with a jump of 3.25m. Later on Michanne Campbell earned first place in the Triple Jump with a leap of 11.51m.
Four Jasper weight throwers had spectacular meets earning qualifying marks for the IC4A's. These athletes include Michael Freeman (19.16m), Anders Constantin (17.72m), Daniel Gazzola (17.61m), and Zoran Loncar (17.55m). Magnus Ahlen also earned an IC4A qualifying mark for the Men's Long Jump leaping 7.30m, while Janek Augustynowicz earned a qualifying mark in the triple jump jumping 14.33m.
Rajne Svenssohn was another Jasper to capture first in the men's Pole Vault with a vault of 4.10m. Even after his IC4A qualifying throw in the Weights, Constantin had enough strength to take first place in the Shot Put with a toss of 15.25m.
The running events will be held tomorrow, Saturday, January 17th at 10am in Draddy Gymnasium.
